Want to know more about Mesotherapy?

Mesotherapy, also known as Lipodissolve, is a non-invasive non-surgical cosmetic procedure used for reducing fat from specific areas of the body such as the double chin, eye fat pads, abdomen, arms, outer and inner thighs, and the love handles. It is also used in treating conditions such as cellulite and stretch marks as well as skin rejuvenation meaning the elimination of facial wrinkles and sagging skin.

The Mesotherapy procedure involves painless micro-injections of both medications and natural products into the superficial fat layers of the area being treated. These medications and natural products include vitamins, minerals, amino acids and enzymes. Depending on the condition and size of the area being treated, different combinations of ingredients can be injected into the body.

The main active ingredients injected into the body are phosphatidylcholine and sodium deoxycholate. Phosphatidylcholine is a major constituent of cell membranes and aids in stimulating the body's own enzymes to break down the fat contained within the body cells into smaller particles which are transported to the liver. What sodium deoxycholate does is to keep the phosphatidylcholine soluble and to aid in breaking down the cell membranes as well as destroying the fat cells.  Mesotherapy is not a surgical procedure and therefore no anesthesia is required.

Generally the number of treatments required depends on the area being treated and the doses of medication being injected into the body. If low-strength doses of medication are used, 10 to 15 treatment sessions given one week apart would be required while with higher-strength doses, only 3 or 4 treatment sessions spaced 3 to 4 weeks apart would be sufficient. Each treatment session can take between 15 to 30 minutes.

The patient can expect some redness, swelling, itching and bruising on the area treated. These symptoms will subside with a few days. And since there is no downtime, normal activities can be resumed directly after treatment.

Mesotherapy is not recommended for pregnant women, insulin-dependent diabetics, or those who have severe heart conditions or cancer.
